Website Update

My apologies for a lack of updates over the past month.  I have increasingly become negligent in remembering to update during our basketball season and now teaching the AP Gov. class.  Therefore, here is a breakdown of what is going on for the next four weeks in each class up until the Ski Week break, just in case I run into a lull with updating the site.  If you have any questions do make sure to email me (cwpitti@yahoo.com) and I'll get back to you asap.  Thanks.

US History
All US History classes are currently working on their Junior research papers.  The bulk of their work will be the paper, which is due on February 16.  There will be some small homework/classwork assignments during the time period but not much in the form of homework.  We will continue to be studying the end of WWI (test on Tuesday, Jan. 23), then focus our attention to the Roaring 20's and Great Depression (testing on the two topics right before the Ski Week Break).

Economics
We are currently finishing up our study of CH 2, which deals with the different types of economies.  We will be having a test on CH 1 & 2 next week (Wednesday or Thursday, Jan. 24/25).  We will then begin working on CH 3 & 4 dealing with Supply & Demand.  This will take us up to the break.  We will have a test on CH 3 & 4 right before we head to Ski Week Break.  Homework will be consistent with about 2-3 followup assignments from classwork to check for student understanding.

AP Government
We finished CH 2 (Constitution) and are due for a test on CH 5 (Civil Liberties/Bill of Rights) this Friday.  Next week we will be studying CH 3 & 4 (Federalism & State/Local Governments), testing next Friday on the two chapters.  We will be skipping CH 6 on Civil Rights because the chapter is nothing more than a history lesson and should be known already.  I suggest you read the chapter and refamilarize yourself with the material if you are in doubt.  We will be trying to cover CH 7, 8, 9, 10 in the remaining three weeks before the break.  The four chapters deal with the 3 branches of government and CH 9 deals with the Federal Bureaucracy.  We may fall short of this goal but we are shooting for it.  Tests will continue to be every Friday.
